draftRPG

September 3rd please join us at Mad River Chicago for the next edition of draftRPG!

One of the biggest hurdles in getting into Role Playing Games is finding the right group. There are so many styles of players and organizers and meshing with your fellow adventures is so important that oftentimes people get frustrated and give up because they never feel like they fit in.

Other times players will leave groups and the DM/GM is left with a void to fill but no one to fill it. Players have friends but they flake out or everyone seems to be busy that night. A campaign that was rolling with a full head of steam is suddenly dead in the water. There are Kobolds to slay, riddles to solve but the party stands idly by, seemingly helpless to do anything about it.

That's what DraftRPG is aiming to solve.

We'll be meeting so that existing groups and independent players can meet and greet. You can show off your newest campaigns and recruit players, see what other people are playing and find the Role Playing Game group of your dreams. There will be demos and discussions so that you can discovered new games and systems. The idea is that RPGs are so much fun but can be intimidating to get started with, so DraftRPG is the event to get your feet wet and find out more about the games you've always wanted to play.

A sample of games that will be represented include Dungeons & Dragons, Shadowrun, Warhammer 40k, Savage Worlds, GURPS, Vampire: The Requiem, Call of Cthulhu and more. And bring your own, too. We'll have tables set up for people to sit and talk, showing off their passions and finding people to bring into their groups. There won't be actual gameplay scheduled, but of course breakouts can occur. This is to bring people together and let them take it from there.

We'll be meeting at Mad River Bar & Grill on Sheffield, just South of Wellington. The space is huge, the food amazing and the staff very attentive. We hope to see you make it out, there's a whole world of Role Playing Games out there and DraftRPG aims to shed some light so you can attack the darkness.

Still my favorite of the Chicago Game Lovers meetups. Always fun to meet new, like-minded people and talk games.

I'm going to have to wait a bit to try and restart my game. I transferred all my files from my computer to a laptop, and due to resolution differences, the materilal is all misformatted.

If anyone is interested in the Fate Core book and the Fate Accelerated book from the Kick starter campaign, I have unused copies of each for sale that I would like to unload. ^_^

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
