Chicago Game Designers Meetup

The purpose of this Meetup is to build the game design community in Chicago by bringing together game designers of every stripe (board, video, social, card, you name it!). During meetings we share ideas, playtest, brainstorm, work on current projects and start new ones, meet one another, and generally help connect game designers to the resources they need to create and improve their games.

We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month in your friendly, neighborhood English pub: the Red Lion in Lincoln Square (4749 N Rockwell... two blocks north of the Rockwell stop on the Brown line). The Red Lion is also accessible by the Lawrence bus (Lawrence and Rockwell) and there is plenty of free parking nearby.

Conducting a closed playtest that is running over. Will have to miss. The new format sounds awesome.

Oh man, I have really been looking forward to this meetup but I'm stuck in Arizona!~ James, is there any chance we could meet more frequently? I had such a great time in October and picked up some very useful advice...

    Rock on guys!

If there's interest, I'd be happy to help coordinate that.

We can talk about it at tonight's meeting. I'll send an email out afterwards to catch folks who couldn't make it.

Life has been a zoo lately, between moving and kickstarter but I think I can actually make our meetings again. Yes we actually are finally moving for real...this week.

For this Meet-Up we're going to try a new format.

The first hour will be "shop-talk" -- talk about the industry, the creative process and an opportunity to get to know your fellow local Game Designers.

The second hour will be open for limited playtests. You'll get an opportunity to explain your game and we'll play it long enough for us to be able to offer advice & criticism.
