Add Some Mojo to your Music!

Mojo is defined as a spell, or charm. In today's urban world it also means talent or appeal. How do successful harmonica players create their own brand of mojo in music?

Besides practice and emotion, they employ a number of playing techniques that create a distinctive sound. Three popular mojo-building techniques are sustain, tremolo and speed. Come on out to Tapas for a demonstration of these three harmonica techniques and a general discussion with practical advice on how to add them to your study and playing routines. With practice, your music can deliver that charm or appeal that casts a spell on your listening audience. You CAN get your mojo workin'! Our meetup always takes time for relaxing and building friendships. Enjoy a drink and a bite to eat from Tapas' wonderful menu, and take to the open stage to perform your music. We welcome all interested parties. Bring your harmonicas, guitar and whatever else you're obsessed with! See you there!

As usual, we had good fun at the Meetup. Phyllis wanted me to play E-Z Blues while she sang "Since I Lost My Baby" which gave me the perfect opportunity to play the song I've been working on.

AWESOME! What a way to play, full band on stage, great improvising, and jamming with family and friends. Marc (my son) and Wallace, my other guest had a great time and look forward to next month.

Once again, what a rockin' great time we had. Thank you all for the sharing.
My sister Chris from Grand Rapids, who is a real drummer, happened to be here and drummed for us and her ex, Paul, who is quite a pianist joined in and improvised. They couldn't say enough about what a great time they had. Mark got to play all night with us and the food was outstanding. Tony on guitar and Mike's friend Mark on guitar...Couldn't have been sweeter.
