Busse Woods Ride - It's going to be 50 degrees!

After a long winter hibernation, it's finally time to get out and start riding. Let's meet at the ELK HERD at BUSSE WOODS and do at least 2 loops around the forest preserve (a loop is 7.7 miles). After that, we'll decide if we are up for a 3rd loop?!?!  You could do only 1 loop if you want to.

The ELK HERD is located near the corner of Higgins and Arlington Heights Road (across the street from the Chevy dealer). I will be in the parking lot with my Silver Jeep Liberty with Ham Radio license plates.

Make sure to check your tire pressure and blow the spider webs out of your gears before coming out. As always . . . helmets and signing the waiver are required. I hope to see you there!

A great day for a ride, nice group and a clear trail. Super time.

I would just like to thank everyone who came out to ride with me today. It was a great event: no flat tires, no injuries, decent weather, and the group motivated each other to complete 3 loops around Busse Woods. I ended the day with 23.5 miles. I will post more of these in the future!

Same here. This was my first group ride. I wasn't sure how it was going to go, but it was fun. I'll be doing more of these.

I'll be working Saturday...at Village Cyclesport! I work at the Elk Grove location right across from the elk area. I'm a part time mechanic and bike builder, don't hesitate to stop by if you need anything!

Nope I don't own that Viking hat, although maybe I'll get a bike helmet designed like that lol.

What is the trail surface? Paved or crushed limestone?

    March 29, 2013

    • Don M.

The trail surface is paved, however since this is our first ride of the year here, who knows what's laying on the path. I am going to be riding my mountain bike.

      March 29, 2013

    • Jim F.

Depending on the pace, I may be laying on the path. Try not to hit me on the second loop.

    How long is a loop?

    March 27, 2013

    • Don M.

      The loop is 7.7 miles.

I was hoping to join but seems like all of a sudden so much going on this weekend. I look forward to the next ride though. Have fun and Happy Easter to all!

I live in Lakeview and would love to join the ride - however can I catch a ride with someone or can someone meet me at the Metra?

    March 27, 2013

    • Lauren B.

Dori, if you can take the Metra UP-N line to Evanston-Davis (there's one that arrives at 12:58 I think), I can pick you up there and give you a ride.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
