Introduction

Glad to see a Chicago area club is now up!!! Been involved with Mira & FLU in past but dropped involvement a few years ago due to lack of Chicago area interest. Recently started getting back on the Mira and saw Lee's posts about Chicago FLU.

How did you find out about us? (Web search, from a friend, ...)

FLU website.

What Fiat / Lancia do you own?

1981 124 Spider 2000 (ex-turbo).

When did you get your first Fiat or Lancia?

Five years ago (2003). Needed something that would not take up too much space in garage & easy to work on. Was looking for a Mercedes 450SL but fell in love with the Fiat when I saw it. Been hooked ever since.

What is your favorite driving story, or memory?

Enjoying sunset/evening drives on bendy roads with the top down.

  • Thanks, Steve. Did a lot of sorting out last spring. Had the rear calipers redone, had the electric reworked-put relays on the headlight circuit. Fortunately the mechanics have been sound. It runs great, NO leaks!. The interior is tan and the seats need new skins, but I'm trying to line up a place to fix the hole in the floor, not sure how bad it is yet, but will soon be removing the seat and carpet to figure it out. Hoping to get by with some patching. It's a gas to drive, tho!!

  • Hi Steve thanks for the welcome. I live in Charleston SC and as you might imagine from my last name, I am Italian. Throughout my life I have owned many Italian cars. I currently have 3 Alfas and my son has a 124 (that's the one that has a busted keyway that I am currently working on). Also a group of friends and I have an old Alfa that we race in the Lemons series. If you look at my facebook page you'll find a link to an article from a local paper, telling about our last race.
