There is nothing quite like firing up a massive clay oven for your evening dinner gathering. Watching the fire burn inside a beautifully sculpted dome oven, preparing pizzas with fresh herbs and special sauces, watching the crust rise on the firebrick floor...all these moments make for a very delicious, memorable meal. And when you've built the oven yourself, oooh, the food is even more delicious!

On August 7th, Anna and Shoebocks will lead a small group in building an Earth Oven out of natural materials, Clay, Sand and Straw, (cob), on top of a custom built metal stand, which will glide in and out of Harry's garage on heavy duty casters. The oven is going to be just as large, gorgeous, and utile as all the others we have made in the past, with exciting technological developments that will compliment the site and situation. Innovative ways to insulate, age old cob-stomping fun, and thousands of ideas and inspirations to take home with you.

On August 14th, the learning continues as we cut open the door to the oven, empty out the form, repair settling cracks, add the insulating cob layer, and learn how to make a successful fire inside the oven, how to cook with the earthen oven, and share some recipes for delicious pizza doughs!
