Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
July 20, 2011
I'm looking to connect with other permies and people interested in regenerative design and sustainable communities.
I took my initial PDC at The Farm with Albert Bates, Scott Horton and A. Goodheart Brown. back in 2006, and was teaching and coordinating PDC's back in L.A. for several years, having co-taught with Scott Horton (editor of Permaculture Activist), Graham Burnett (director of SpiralSeed UK) and others, at L.A. Ecovillage and other locations. My main thrust for those years was a sustainable homestead project I co-founded called Ars Terra. More info on that here: http://www.myspace.com/arsterra. I have also lectured on permaculture at various colleges and universities, have spoken several times at WorldFest in Los Angeles at at numerous other public events and have appeared on KPFK/Pacifica radio on the program "Healthy Planet, Healthy Me," discussing permaculture at length. Here in Chicago, I co-founded (along with Milton Dixon) the Chicagoland Permaculture Guild.
Beyond my knowledge of permaculture, I was also a Master Gardener back in CA, where I worked in community gardens teaching people in low-income communities how to grow their own food. I live on a plant-based, whole foods diet, and I'm interested in health and wellness and martial arts. I am also a musician/music producer/audio engineer.
I am co-founder of the Chicagoland Permaculture Guild. I took my first PDC in 2006 at The Farm in TN, and have been active in the PC community ever since. I look forward to meeting you!
