Jersey Shore?

Jersey Shore offensive? I'm more disappointed in my 'paisani' than the show's producers. Katelyn Lobascio, paisani /event planner for Jersey Shore's Joe's Bar appearance, thinks their appearance is "Ideal". Are MTV and others a bit disingenuous? A quote from the of paragon journalism, Red Eye: Robt. Thompson, Dir. of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture at Syracuse Univ. notes that all the controversy hasn't negatively affected the popularity of the "Jersey Shore"--just the opposite. He said, "The things the show is being accused of--being politically incorrect, being crude and being offensive--that's what this show is about." He continued, "Just because the cast is saying offensive things or behaving badly doesn't mean viewers are insensitive or condone it. Viewers are watching because the stories are compelling and the show gives them a feeling of superiority." Using his rational, would you patronize or support a bar who had an Amos & Andy festival?

Is McCann - Erickson' s/ US Army "Part of Something Bigger than Myself" $1.35 B Campaign effective?

You've seen the ads on TV. A young person tells mom/dad that the decision has been made to join up.... "'cuz I want to be part something bigger than myself". That's it. That's the pitch. The tag line. No "Uncle Sam Wants You" or even "Over There". We live in a time where our president calls on all Americans to volunteer. Do you think the $1.35 billion dollar campaign from McCann/Erickson & Weber Shandwick will be effective in encouraging young people to chose military service?

What would you be willing to invest to support the CMM&A group ?

So far the CMM&A has sustained itself out of pocket. We've paid the monthly Meet-Up dues, obtained audio equipment, printed promo materials and spent to bring guests ranging from our kick off event with Sun-Time's Media columnist, Lewis Lazar to the myriad of other distinguished, professional marketers. We need your help to continue to move forward with our mission, which is making sure everyone leaves a CMM&A event with knowledge, tools and contacts that will advance their career. With close to 300 members, a small investment from each member will allow us to focus on the CMM&A mission and not on our month to month survival.
