That's pretty close to where I live.  I should be able to make this meeting as long as my schedule doesn't change.

Announcing a new Meetup for Chicago Martial Arts Club!

What: Outdoor Training Session

When: August 1,[masked]:00 AM

Where:
Ping Tom Memorial Park
Chinatown
Chicago, IL 60601

Hey gang, let's give this a try. An outdoor training session in Chinatown's Ping Tom Memorial Park. We will meet at 11 am under the park pagoda. Anyone needing directions to the park :
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&um=1&q=ping%20tom%20memorial%20park&ndsp=18&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=il
We can train for a couple of hours or as long as everyone wants. It will be open to all styles, but if you give me sense of what you want to work on, we can lean that direction, or people can split up into groups. We will keep things casual, especially for the first meetup. Dress appropriately for the outdoors and bring plenty of water. Bring whatever safety gear you might need (mouthguard, groin protector, etc.) Generally I keep my training geared towards self-defense, but I am not opposed to helping out with sport training if that's the goal. We can work on all ranges of combat. I will try to bring a variety of gear, but I can't equip many people. I do have some portable mats, if people want to do some ground work.
Afterwards, if anyone is interested in grabbing lunch in Chinatown, I know some great places (you pay for your own lunch of course.)
I will try to make a regular weekend Meetup for outdoor training. The location will change and obviously the weather can be a factor. I will also be adding a meetup out in Lombard for us suburbanites too.
Look forward to seeing you this weekend or the next, or the next, etc.
