A Very Puggy Thanksgiving

Join us for a Thanksgiving celebration at Chicago Party Animals. We'll be bringing a small turkey, ham and holiday fixin's. Feel free to bring anything else you'd like to eat or drink. If you bring doggy treats to share, please be aware that some dogs may be on a special diet.

The cost will be $10 per adult person and $5 a pug. Parking is easy to find on Sunday and free. We look forward to celebrating the holiday with you!

Thanks to everyone for condolences. Winnie passed peacefully on my bed next to me early this morning. I'm having her cremated and getting her ashes returned. I'm having a really tough time with all her beds, toys, bowls around the house. I can't bear to move them but they cause another bout of tears. Anyone have suggestions to deal with this? Leave for awhile? Remove? Winnie was a rescue, and I'd like to have a rescue again sometime.

Cry as much as you need to, Claire. It's cleansing and therapeutic. Chris and I both cried on and off for a few weeks when we lost Guinness. It really does get better but you have to go through the process. Do whatever feels right at the time. One day I took Guinness' nametag off his collar and impulsively put it in my purse pocket. It is still there and every so often I run across it and think of him fondly. Then I put it back until next time.

Greed LuAnne! I wish I was still in Chicago sometimes so Ivan and Sam could hang out at the meetups. Dee Dee and Chris have always been awesome and I'm so happy they take the time to due functions for our Puggys:)

It was great fun, even with a very small crowd. Food was fantastic and the pugs seemed to have fun playing together. I hope the small turnout was due to timing vis a vis the holiday, or the super cold weather and not the price. I support whatever is needed to keep the meet ups happening and applaud Dee Dee, Chris and Laura for all their hard work. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Claire, I don't know you but I am so sad to hear about your loss of your little one. I have been through this and it is so very hard. Please let me know if I can do anything! Linda

We totally wanted to go, but $10/person is kind of steep + the cost of the pugs ($25+). Didn't it used to be less? I appreciate all the work done in organizing this, so I'm mostly just bummed about missing out.

So please, come and let me know what feels manageable to you. There are ways to work this out. Perhaps you won't want to eat or you'll want to brink your own drinks. There are always lots of options. Hope to see you there.

We'll miss you and Winnie, but you'll be in our thoughts. If you need to chat, please let me know. I know it helped me quite a bit to talk and cry. I'm here with a good ear. Hugs.

So love this event! Thank you Dee Dee for all the time you put into bringing all the pug family together in Chicago. We live in Montana now for 18 months. Ditka passed a couple months ago after suffering a seizure. Otis has made many new friends out here in the Flathead Valley and is loving life in the country off a leash! He lives on 11 acres beside a lake. He's taken up hiking and camping! Still love following this group! Big Montana hugs.
