I met Dee Dee yesterday (Aug 2, 08) at the Retro on Roscoe Festival. I live in the heart of this villlage and didn't know this group existed!!
Making me laugh. Having an open heart and non-judgmental attitude. Being loving and kind. (I wish I knew more humans with their personality and character!) Sleeping under my covers in the winter! Being READY for life...whatever their choices...they are READY! (Dog beach, a walk, a road trip, or simply out to chill on the porch...they are always UP for whatever comes!) OTIS IS A SCREAMING PUG! He gets amazing attention where ever he goes because he screams. EVERYONE sooner or later gets to know OTIS as the screaming pug. Ditka has slowly gone blind. It has not changed his good attitude. He hasn't changed his gait and he sometimes runs into things head on. He shakes stops, shakes it off and then forges forward. I have learned so much from Ditka....resiliency and tenacity. He isn't resentful about being blind and it hasn't made him sad or bitter. He's just the same ole pug but can't see. He still has his tail up most of the time and when it's down, he gets hugs.
Ditka and Otis who are NOW IN MONTANA!!!
I have been a pug owner since 1986. (Back with the Bears ROCKED!) Her name was Bear! She lived 17 years in a large household with three growing boys, a cat and a huge Akita. Now I have Ditka, a 24 pound fawn 9 year, and Otis, age 7.
I look forward to each one that I can make. I really appreciate how hard Chris and Dee Dee work to make this group successful! Thanks!
