Soccer in the Sun! 5v5 Pickup and Fun at North Ave beachfront!

CFRS

This weekend, Chicago Fire Rec Soccer will be kicking off our inaugural “Soccer in the Sun” event series at North Ave beach. We want to create a Chicago Summer event for you, the fun-loving soccer fan.

Every Saturday afternoon from 1pm - 4pm we will host a Meetup for our soccer fans who want to get the most out of their Chicago Summer experience. We will provide food on our grill and soft drinks, all you need to do is RSVP and have a blast.

Bring some friends or sign up individually and see who will reign as kings of the court. Our 5v5 pickup (winner stays on) will run for the first couple of hours while we get some hotdogs and burgers fired up on the grill. After your games, hop off to enjoy some good food and fun games.

- Grilling out
- Bags (Cornhole)
- Soccer tennis
- Good music over loudspeakers
- FIFA 13 on the Xbox 360 outside!

All skill levels and individuals are welcome. Afterwards, we’ll all jump into the water in Lake Michigan for a cool down.

Our “Soccer in the Sun” event series is a great way to meet new people and fully enjoy summer in Chicago. Let us know how we can make this event series even better - hit us up on Facebook with your favorite beach activities.

The first 10 people who RSVP will take home a CFRS string-bag. Space is limited so sign up today to save your spot. If you have friends that want to come along, but not partake in the fun, there's a $5 door charge. Just leave their name(s) in the comments section below! The more the merrier!

Don’t forget your sunscreen!

I just received the time for my other game (which is smack-dab, right in the middle of this), so I won't be able to make it. Is there going to be some way to get a refund?

    July 5, 2013

    • Aggie

Actually, not even really a refund, but even if it's a credit (since I'll more than likely use it anyway)... Last week's cancellation killed me!

      July 5, 2013

    • Sam C.

Aggie - just let me know when we can get you playing again and I'll make it happen!

      July 5, 2013

    I'll be bringing two people:

    Vivian Castillo
    Camilo Castillo

    July 3, 2013

    • Samuel W.

Thanks Jacob, if they are coming to play soccer then you need to add them to your RSVP, if they are coming to hang out and eat food then there will be a $5 charge at the door.

I sent a note to Sam Weisbrod last Saturday that I (or my plus 1)can't make this weekend. I notice we're still down on the RSVP. Can you either move us to a different weekend or process a refund? Thks

    July 5, 2013

    • Samuel W.

Bryan, I moved your RSVP +1 to the following Saturday. Does that work for you?

      July 5, 2013

  • Eli F.

Does one spot mean one team or one person? I might be able to get a team for Saturday

    July 4, 2013

    • Samuel W.

Eli, 1 spot means 1 person, but your friends are welcome to come and play. You just need to RSVP and then add the amount of people you are bringing.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
