Our fourth ever midweek meetup!

  • September 20, 2006 · 6:00 PM

Our Fourth ever midweek meetup! We consistently have around 20 to 25 people turning up on a Wednesday, and a good time is always had by all. We normally mix the skill levels up so everyone is playing with each other. Everyone always gets to play, and the group is very encouraging and enthusiastic. We normally have goals and at least one full field. Here are the details: Meet at Montrose Field at 6:00pm at the bleechers next to the artificial field until 6:15pm when we'll go find a spot to play. The field is here:
http://maps.google.co... There is parking to the north of the field and east of the field. By car just get on Lakeshore drive and turn off on Montrose Ave going East for the East Parking lot and W. Wilson Ave. for the North parking. If taking the El, take the red line to the Wilson stop and head East on Wilson. Once you go under Lake Shore Drive look for the field to the South. The walk from the El station is about 15 minutes. If riding by bicycle take the bike path to the field. Look for 4 fields (one artificial) and a big hill. Theres also a playground right near the fields. If you need any help getting there, call Troy on[masked] as I will not be making it this week. Hopefully you can make it! Considering missing bag (which was probably a fluke, but nevertheless a big pain for Clyde) maybe we could perpetually sub one person out to hang out by the bags area and guard them. Doesn't seem to be a problem on Sundays.

Also, getting dark so early. Could we potentially start earlier for the next month or so.

I think we should try to create some team spirit here. And, we need an alternative for the winter. Can we play indoors somewhere? Thank you

Not a bad turnout - played on a full pitch (which was a nice combination of rock hard in some places and swamp-like in others) with 11-a-side, increasing to 12-a-side.
Personally I don't know how much longer I'll be able to continue attending on Wednesdays as it's taking me a good hour to get down there and it gets dark so early we don't have a lot of time to play. If anybody knows of somewhere with lights which is available on Wednesdays, that would be perfect!!
