Hear Kimiko Ishizaka perform Bach at the new Pianoforte Studios

The Pianoforte Foundation is putting the finishing touches on their new studios at 1335 S. Michigan Ave., and one of the first artists to perform there will be the German pianist, Kimiko Ishizaka, best known for her project the "Open Goldberg Variations".

The concert will be one of the "Twelve Tones of Bach" concerts which Ishizaka is presenting to raise funds and awareness for her upcoming studio recording of the Well-Tempered Clavier.

The concert is open to the public, and will also be broadcast live via Google Hangouts On Air. If you can't make the concert but want to watch, sign up here: http://goo.gl/c4RD8h

Thanks, everyone, for attending! Sorry I wasn't able to meet you all - I had my hands full with the technical stuff. Kimiko will be back at Pianoforte in January with the Goldberg Variations - hope to see you then!

A powerful interpretation, almost a rewriting. Bach meets the 21st century. It shakes you up, it carries you away in a rainbow of emotions.
And, what an elegant, lovely lady she is; what a lively smile.

Scott, there are two paying parking lots on the same block(very cheap). Or if you are lucky you might find street parking on 13th or 14th St.
    I live across the St.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Thomas Zoells and Susan Heiserman of the Pianoforte Foundation today. The event on the 26th will be the musical grand opening of their new facilities! Expect events to be planned for the entire day.

Thank you so much for this spectacular event! Can we please name a member host for the evening?

What does that mean exactly? I'm the concert organizer, if that helps. Since I'm a bit new to Meetup.com and in particular to this group I'm happy to get suggestions.
