Thank you for the arrangements for the event. It was nice meeting with you who love classical music. Despite of some changes, Mr Spooner's piano recital was great. I was also glad to attend another concert as I liked the concert setting which musicians were playing in the center. See you!

Last minute friends stopped by. Canceling due to rain and guests in need of TLC. Is the concert simulcast on the radio?

Unfortunately something has come up that i need to attend to so I won't be able to attend today.

    September 15, 2013

  • David R.

The bakery is immediately across the street from the Washington Street exit to the Cultural Center. It is a good meeting place for before the concert, as is the seating area of the concert if you recognize any faces. After the concerts, the Elephant & Castle at Lake and Wabash usually accommodates separate bills if you ask them in advance of seating.

    September 14, 2013

  • Gail S.

I am sick this weekend so I will not make the concerts tomorrow. I am disappointed as I know they will be wonderful. Hope to catch other events later.

    September 14, 2013

  • Gail S.

I look forward to attending both concerts - 12:15 and 3:00 pm.

People who arrive early in the past have met on the French bakery on Washington Street. Please meet at noon by Washington Street staircase (3rd Floor) if you want to save seats for the group or afterwards hang around to meet by staircase. Afterward we will see if anybody is interested in food/drinks or the second concert.

The meetup is for 12:30 p.m. Stay for ICE if you dare. 12:30pm International Beethoven Festival Concert in Preston Bradley Hall
•3pm Loops and Variations: International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) in Preston Bradley Hall

    August 28, 2013

  • Brian W.

Wait!! You're reading the ICE concert incorrectly. Even though ICE is a contemporary ensemble (all contemporary music is not that scary), ICE is performing the Beethoven Septet "as originally composed" and then performing a contemporary piece by American George Lewis.

    August 28, 2013

  • SUZANNE W.

Appassionata ? one of my favorite piano sonata. I'll definitely be there for the 12:30.
I'm afraid that performance of Beethoven by ICE might be "Look what they've done to the master piece" :)

    August 28, 2013

  • Brian W.

I believe the time is wrong for this. According to the Beethoven Project Festival website, there is a piano recital in the Claudia Cassidy Theatre within the Cultural Center at 12:30 of music of Fairouz and Beethoven's Appassionata with songs by Poulenc, Mendelssohn, Brahms, and Beethoven to follow with soprano. The ICE performance is listed for 3:00.

    August 28, 2013

  • Steve

I had the same question. I think the ensemble will be playing the Beethoven Septet straight up classical. Hopefully there will be no drummers or electric guitars. ;)

    CONTEMPORARY BEETHOVEN?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
