Ensemble Dal Niente 2014 Season Opener

Ensemble Dal Niente is a Chicago-based contemporary music collective that presents and performs new music in ways that redefine the listening experience and advance the art form. The programming, brought to life by a flexible repertoire-based instrumentation, seeks to challenge convention and create engaging, inspiring, and immersive experiences which connect audiences with the music of today. I am a board member of Dal Niente, alway enjoy their inspiring and down to earth performances.

At the close of Chicago's recent Polar Vortex, Ensemble Dal Niente welcomed hundreds of Chicagoans to the city's Cultural Center to meditate on winter with a performance of Hans Abrahamsen's Schnee. now they offer a bookend to that introspective experience -- with extroverted works celebrating Chicago's summer activity -- music related to Assemblage and Coming Together. All performances will be enhanced with video art created by Alejandro Acierto (b.1985).

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
