A Cathedral Christmas: Choral Music of Benjamin Britten

Join the Cathedral Choir and the St. James Chamber Players in a holiday concert featuring music by Benjamin Britten in this his 100th anniversary year. The ebullient Ceremony of Carols for treble voices and harp opens this program...hear the stunning sounds of the Cathedral Choir's soprano and alto sections and soloists in this, one of his most famous works.

St. Nicholas, the story of the 4th Century Bishop of Myra, is retold by Britten in a most remarkable way...his youth, his miracles, and ultimately his sanctification...it is the story of Santa Claus! The Cathedral's own Alan Taylor will sing Nicholas.

I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. In general Allison, if a concert advertises "suggested donation" you are welcome to come and give what or if you can. Hope to see you at some future events.

Thanks Noel! No worries. I ended up attending a gallery opening in my neighborhood and saw some great dance. I am a musician myself so I want to go to future events. Let me know!

Are we Meeting up or is every one going on their own?

I was imagining we could gather at the back of the Cathedral and sit together (I think I can rope off some seating). If folks want to go to a nearby place for drinks after, even better.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
