In the past, then Lyric, lately concerts in Evanston and Hyde Park, 20th cent chamber music, and a laundry list of small jazz joints.

Piano many yrs as a kid, Classical guitar and sitar for a few yrs, Amateur singing: Apollo Club, Chicago Chamber Choir, Old Town Renaissance Consort, Grant Park Chorus, Barbershop Quartet, school chorus, musicals.
Possibilities: a. inherited tendancy, b. osmosis through both parents, c. liked math, so liked music also, d. Joliet is a VERY musical town - bands and orchestra since early 1900's, almost every kid played an instrument, e. family was in high school band, musicals.
My need for music is so persistant that I can't work without it - concert, folk, jazz, operatic. Our childhood was full of music / music lessons. I had a special love of Early Music.
