Re: [classical-131] Call For Organizers and Other Get-Togethers

Hello Matthew,
I organised a dinner at Rhapsody for our group for the Liszt Bicentennial concert.  It seems that it was quite successful.  I must say though that it involved a lot of time/effort on my part because I had to collect the cost of the tickets, since I charged them on my credit card through the group department, and it was not easy.  We got excellent seats (orchestra) at a good discount.
I would not attempt this again, because some of the members were very difficult to deal with.
I live on the North Shore, and I would love to meet classical music lovers in my area.  The Ravinia Festival is starting soon, and we could enjoy the performance as well as each other's company.  However, I would need a few of us to organise this.
I hope to meet you someday.
Have a great week-end!

Classical Lovers,

Donna Robertson has been doing a lot of organizing for us, for which I
am grateful. I have been paying the monthly fee, but have been open
from the beginning that my time was limited. Do we have any other
people who are interested in becoming co-organizers? I'd happily
promote a couple of people if it would resultin more scheduled events
and more chances for people meet.

Secondly, would anyone be interested in meeting other members from our
group, not not necessarily at a concert?  Maybe as a chance to meet
and greet, talk classical, and just get to know each other?  If so, I
am willing to set up a few of those at CTA-accessible locations.
