a ghostly September

  • September 20, 2013 · 7:00 PM

September's choice came from the ticking process in the sunny garden in July, when we were torn between books.

We are reading David Mitchell's 'Ghostwritten'. It is available in paper & as a download for all of the usual gizmos.

It will be the usual thing, turn up from 7.00pm & feel free to join some of us for something to eat.

We have a shortlist for October's read and I will put up a poll shortly.

I don't want to be the one to use the 'c' word in September (not the one you're thinking of!) but, here goes, can people bring with them suggestions with them on the 20th for venues for the Christmas meal/ December s book club . If you are unable t make it on the 20th, please email me your suggestions.

Look forward to seeing you there

Hi all I enjoyed the discussions last, apologies for the general message but I was talking to someone whose name I have forgotten about a TV programme fat: The fight of my life which they had missed and wanted to see. I had a look into it this morning and the particular episode is on again today and tomorrow, and available on demand to a Sky subscriber through an internet connected Sky+ box until mid october. If they would like more details please contact me by Private Message.

I need to drop out as my book hasn't arrived. I'm a quick reader so been waiting patiently and was looking forward to digesting and coming along but with 24 hrs to go, I admit defeat and Amazon have let me down !!

Hi Linzi. Please feel free to come along if you would like to. The book club veterans (i am guilty if this) don't always finish the book. But it's still a great group of people & a great evening. Debbie :-)

At the risk of dragging us all back in time by a couple of months as well as away from books to the idiots lantern, I just discovered that Sky Arts has the first series of Roald Dahls Tales of the Unexpected available on demand. Just watched Neck, with Peter Bowles, John Gielgud and Joan Collins.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
