Introduction
I have a 10 1/2 acre farm in Crabapple and have a few sheep (for fiber) along with a horse and my small flock.
What breed of chickens do you own?
Barred Rocks and Americanuas but also have a Dominique and RIR hen.
How many chickens do you own?
Currently 1 banty cochin roo, 1 americana roo and 9 hens
What do you like most about owning chickens?
I love watching them run up to me to see what goodies I have and gathering the smooth fresh eggs.
How long have you owned chickens?
4 years but it's in the blood, my grandfather was a poultry farmer in NJ before I was born, my aunt raised chickens, my sister is raising chickens and my mom always has missed her chickens
How many people (other than yourself) have you helped get started owning chickens?

"Looks like she's gone broody, you can try just removing her from the nesting box and putting outside in the sun. With the shorter days and less sun a number of birds either quit or slow down their laying...."

"We use a Havahart trap to catch the predators then have the county animal control come by to pick it up...."

"Does your coop close up at night. You definitely want to be able to have a safe enclosure. If you don't have one try using a non-mesh dog crate. Make sure to put smaller wire mesh on the door so if it's a weasel it can't get in...."

"I would not keep that rooster. I've gotten rid of a couple of roos that attacked family members. Like Kim said it's too dangerous once they get their spurs since they like to go for the eyes."
