Chico Vegan Potluck Guidelines

A potluck is a party where everybody brings a dish of food and shares it with the rest of the people at the party. To ensure everybody has a good time I'll outline basic guidelines I expect everybody to follow if they wish to participate. Nothing hard or scary just mostly common sense stuff and tips for people new to potluck.

Please adhere to the following:

1) All food must be vegan, which is defined as not containing any animal products. By this I mean no: meat, milk, cheese, eggs, honey, yogurt, butter, whey, lard, casein, gelatin, fish, animal broth etc.

2) A list of ingredients or the recipe must be written down to be displayed near your dish with your name.

3) Dishes should serve at least 6 portions.

4) If needed please provide a utensil to enable people to serve themselves a portion of the dish you brought.

5) Bring your own plate, utensils and napkin. Tupperware or other such containers makes for a convenient way to partake and then store for easy cleanup later at home.

6) You must bring food to eat food.

7) Couples/families bringing one dish should adjust the portion size of their dish accordingly.

8) Store/restaurant bought food is allowed as long as the ingredients are readily available. This makes it easy for people who don't cook or whatever to participate.

9) While we will do our best to ensure all food is vegan, we cannot guarantee it. Eat at your own risk.

10) Please post what dish you plan to bring in your RSVP comment when you sign up for an event. You can go back to your RSVP and modify it as necessary.

11) Please bring your own beverage and/or water.

If you have any questions please email the Organizer of the meetup.

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you and your food! smile

Many thanks to the wonderful Chicago Vegan Meetup for letting me borrow their potluck guidelines!
