Are you seeking outdoor adventures near Chico-Oroville and the surrounding areas?

Welcome!

I created COOA in the Spring of 2010 after being an active organizer in another outdoor group in Northern California. I had recently moved south to Butte County and I saw there was a need for an outdoor Meetup.

The desire is to bring others together with similar interests and to safely adventure together in self-propelled outdoor activities: Hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, bicycling, mountain biking, kayaking, moonlit hikes, cultural events, and anything else that volunteer organizers may want to contribute.

As of 2016 you are free to join with a trial membership of 45 days. This should give you enough time to see if COOA is the right outdoor meetup group for you.

To start your trial membership, simply click on the upper right hand tool bar, that says "Join Us!" and fill out the profile. Becoming a member (or trial membership)will allow you to have full access to the website and calendar.

Annual membership is $15.00. If you join the last quarter of the year your fee will go towards the next year.

It is best if you can provide a clear picture of yourself as your primary COOA profile picture. It makes it easier for organizers to match a name to face and greatly appreciated! It makes it easier for other members to identify you after a hike by name when they forget too ;-)

I welcome activity members to be event organizers! COOA needs more people to step up, help out, and put outings on the calendar! Best of all you get to have some fun in the great outdoors!

Feel free to contact me if you would be interested in additional participation as an Event Organizer. It is best to have participated in some events and have recommendations by other Adventurers to become an Organizer.

This can be a terrific place to make new friends, enjoy great experiences and get outside! Hope to Meetup with you soon!

Miles of smiles,

Beth Bella
