Welcome to all the new members who joined the Chicago Game Development Meetup!
Thanks to everyone who attended last meetup. We had a small group discuss some innovative game projects we were working on and some ideas for the future.
This week I hope we?ll have a larger group and introduce some show-and-tell structure. I will be showing off my Old Spice deodorant branded adventure game, Spice of Life, that was recently rejected from the Xbox Live Indie Games for having too many bugs (no argument there). I may also give a presentation on narrative distance in games assuming that there is interest, time, and I finish it in time.
But I want to encourage every member to bring something to show. This can be a game you are working on, an idea you have, an experimental game you are playing, or just some thoughts about games. Everyone will be given time.
I have a few other exciting announcements for the group that I hope to make very soon! Our October 22 meetup will be Halloween-themed and we will take a look at some experimental horror games.
The meetup is at my place in West Bucktown. Easy and free parking on East/West streets like Wabansia. Easy public transportation from North Ave Bus. Or from California Blue Line.
