February 2014 South Bay Chihuahua Meetup

  • Feb 8, 2014 · 12:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Happy Valentine's! Hopefully the sun shines for the chihuahuas to be out enjoying the afternoon at the dog park. And if not, break out their winter reds and pinks to keep them toasty as they run and play.

Our meetup is FREE for all, friendly & informal. A great opportunity for your furry, four-legged friend to socialize with dogs just their size. Remember, if you'd like to sit bring along a chair. Please be considerate and always pick up your doggie's doo.

Please note~ if it is wet outside and the ground is saturated chances are the chihuahuas will not be out to play :(

Of course, one of the only weekends we r not doing adoptions with my dog rescue and we can attend this, it's raining. : ( Furkids r bummed!

I'm afraid that we won't be able to attend this month. We saw the specialist for Carlos today and we learned that his run in with the horse was a bit worse than anticipated. It seems he has a fracture above his upper right canine and the Dr asked us to keep him quiet, no play, no tug toys, no chasing or running around and no rough housing with other pups. She said that he needs to rest and allow his body to heal, so I decided to keep him home this month. He's scheduled for surgery on the 17th and we also learned that the Dr might be able to save his lower canine, so hopefully he'll only need the root canal. So, sorry that we're going to miss this month, but he should be doing better next month. Hope you all have a great time!!!

\(°O°)/ Chico says "At least he has canines" He's a brat; Helen says hope he gets through surgery with flying colors. And heals soon. It's supposed to rain hard tomorrow anyway, so tell Carlos he's not missing anything ;-)

Sounds like we will be getting rain for sure Saturday (figures), but we all know we need it. Guess Chulo & I will plan not going, unless of course, it's sunny & dry. :-)

Yes, we'll likely do the same. Our meetup has had an incredibly long run of not getting rained out. But alas, tomorrow will probably break that streak.

My Chico *hates* to be wet! Depends on whether it's. misting or pouring. :-(

We may get some much needed rain this weekend... so might be too cold and wet for the chihuahuas.

Anne, yes I agree, it's a hard lesson to learn. and Helen, sadly, according to the Dr, she said some dogs never learn their lesson and will continue to try to chase horses. So we're not going to let him around horses again unless there's a sturdy fence between the two species.

Crystal, years ago I had a small Jack Russell who was great at herding horses. I had a horse at the time and Beatrice would herd him all the time. Beatrice was raised around horses and knew how to avoid the hooves. It's not something Id recommend to anyone though. So sorry Carlos is having to go through this. My 18 month old Chorkie had to have 4 baby teeth removed today and I freaked over that little thing. (((((hugs)))))

It's too far away. Have to drive from Gilroy.

I'm pretty sure Crystal and I will make it there with Carlos. He's gonna have some war stories to tell all the other pups. Yesterday he thought he could play with a horse, but got a hoof to the nose/mouth and lost a bunch of the little front teeth. Thankfully, the teeth were the extent of the injuries. I'm sure his body is probably achey, too.
