Message from Chihuahua Meetup Organizer - Looking for volunteers

Hey everyone,

I am looking for a few volunteers to help take this group to the next level. Doing this alone for six years has been rewarding, but in order to implement the vision of having the largest, most engaging and rewarding Chihuahua Enthusiast Group in the world, I'll need to delegate some responsibility to the awesome resources of our group. (We'll surpass 700 members this week)

Below are some of the roles I'm looking to fill. You can step down any time you like. Email me offline at [address removed] with the role name in the header if you interested or have additional questions on the responsibilities.

Head Assistant Organizer - Make sure all assistant roles are filled. Welcome new members.

Group Picture Coordinator. Responsibilities include gathering everyone at noon for a group picture and making sure pictures from the meetup get posted online.

Special Event Coordinator(s) - Need someone to organize a special event at the meetups. Some ideas I have are having speakers give five or ten minute presentations on chihuahua related topics, ie, a dog trainer giving a short refresher on basic dog training skills, I have a speaker who is in our group that is an expert on Flea and heartworm prevention and care, Doggie CPR, fostering, responsible breeding, etc.. Events would not need to be speakers each time, they could be theme based. For example, we are doing a joint meetup next month with the yorkie meetup group billed "CHI VS. YORKIE", we'll have best dressed and best doggie trick, this would need to be organized and implemented. Whoever takes on this responsibility would only be responsible for up to fifteen minutes of the meetup. They would also be responsible in communicating with the organizers of the Dia de los muertos Parade.

Chivangelist - This role is to help promote and grow the group. I post to craigslist pets forum and just started placing event listings in the Austin Chronicle, The good life,, etc.. You will be given Assistant Organizer access to the promotion section which will let you print flyers and cards which we can give to members to give out to other chihuahua members or post at their local vet or dog park.

Event Manager - This role would be responsible for help recruiting locations, help with setup, refreshments, cleanup, keeping water bowls full.
