Smithsonian Folklife Festival - China

Dear Members,

The Smithsonian Folklife Festival is going on June 25-29, July 2-6 and features many countries including China. This is a No-Host event, go on your own and Enjoy!

See their website for full schedule of activities.

Recommend: Coming to the Sunday, June 29 11:30am Chinese Language Meetup at Teaism and then walking over with us to the National Mall. At that time, you can either go to the Festival or continue to the Smithsonian Freer/Sackler for the exhibits. (from Evelyn)

Went there today. It was great, but too much for one day. I didnt try the food, but the entertainment was great. I'll have to bring my camera later this week wh when I come back.

I went yesterday and it was great. They seem to focus on Guizhou and the ethnic minorities there. Food was kind of boring though: lo mein, dumplings (not so good), and mapo tofu.
