What are your favorite Chinese dishes and foods?

Oh jeez, in English? Jing jiang rou si, steamed buns (baozi), dumplings, and hotpot!! And spicy shrimp with noodles (xiang la xia)

How would you describe your level of Chinese? (Eg it's my native language OR I don't speak it OR I learned some dialect from my family but little Mandarin, OR I can speak a few words, simple conversations, etc.)

I speak much better than I read or write because I studied it formally in China only during my 2nd year there. So I'd say I am novice-intermediate level?

What kind of events and activities would you be interested in? What would you like to do at our events?

I like eating, drinking good tea, watching movies, and playing soccer. I like to play games too.

What could this group provide for you that no other Meetup could?

Actual conversational practice!

Where did you grow up? How did you learn Chinese? Tell us your story.

I grew up in Iowa and learned Chinese when I moved to Hebei province in 2007. I taught English there for 2 years and loved it. I definitely want to go back.

Introduction

I lived in China for 2 years and loved it. I moved back to America in 2009 and have already forgotten a lot of Chinese, so I want to improve.
