What are your favorite Chinese dishes and foods?

Hong Shao Niu Rou Mian. La Zi Ji Ding. Yan Su Ji. Mu Shu Ji. Qing Zheng Yu. All kinds of fish. Anything with black bean sauce, szechuan peppercorns, bitter melon will be great. Reddish cheeks and tears running down my face. And I LOVE TARO!

How would you describe your level of Chinese? (Eg it's my native language OR I don't speak it OR I learned some dialect from my family but little Mandarin, OR I can speak a few words, simple conversations, etc.)

I've been around the language for most of my life and can think in Chinese, but there's always more to learn.

What kind of events and activities would you be interested in? What would you like to do at our events?

Events must somehow involve Chinese food. Everything else is just a bonus. I also get excited watching mandarin movies that have food scenes in them.

What could this group provide for you that no other Meetup could?

It's enjoyable to engage with people with similar interests. We have something in common but each person brings a unique perspective. Our interaction allows us to see issues in a new light, and with new insights.

Where did you grow up? How did you learn Chinese? Tell us your story.

Studied about 6 years of Chinese at university level. Was in PRC and Taiwan for several years for various work and study.

Hi, I'm Andy. I host some of our events for fluent or more advanced Chinese speakers. My goal for these events is to develop fun and interesting activities for those who want to maintain a Chinese-speaking social circle.

What Andy is saying about this Meetup Group

This club does not teach you Chinese but it's a place to speak the Mandarin you already know- beginner to native speaker.
