  • This location is shown only to members

From 6:45 - 8:15 pm Tuesday, Maynard needs to be OUT
(away from the event), so we have a special event planned!

(at the same time, or one right after the other??)
in Brigham Circle (near HSPH) - at the Brigham Circle green line stop

Sing Christmas Carols in Brigham Circle
and get free food in advance in Brigham Circle,
then go to the meetup at HSPH.

* Bring friends - Nerdy Chinese folks want OR "Americans"
and have a fun, FREE "outing" in Boston
just schmoozing and talking with nerdy strangers
in English or Mandarin?

Schedule for Tuesday evening - 677 Huntington Avenue:

5:30 - 6:30 pm - Together we'll attend a f-u-n
holiday event at Brigham Circle
(where Walgreen's and Stop and Shop are).
Both Mayor Tom Menino of Boston AND Santa Claus (of the North Pole?) will be there (we don'[t KNOW if they will be there at the same time, though).
There will be Christmas Carols and free food.
That event goes until 7:30 pm.  We leave it around 6:30 pm.

Then around 6:30 pm, our group will go across the street to 677 Huntington Avenue, Harvard School of Public Health, and go upstairs to Kresge 201.

6:30 - ~7:15 pm
 - Bilingual Introductions

7:15-7:45 pm -
"Noodles" - a bilingual talk (Mandarin and English)
(that grain-based pasta so popular in China and throughout Asia
Jie Gao, MS (Health Policy and Management), Financial Analyst for Partners Healthcare

(followed by Q&A in either language)

7:45 pm-9:30 pm - FREE CHAT (no talk tonight)
7:45 pm-9:30 pm - small Mandarin-speaking groups
7:45 pm-9:30 pm - English language pronunciation and grammar workshops

After 9:30 pm - free conversations - so stay late

Our stable location is Kresge 201 in the most gracious and globally conscious Harvard School of Public Health, where health-conscious and energy-conscious building and curriculum modifications have been made.

All Mandarin speakers (and English-speakers, too) need to register IN ADVANCE to get an HSPH building permission for the night.
