Open Mic – East Meets Words is the only monthly Asian American open mic series in all of New England, taking place the second Friday of every month at East Meets West bookstore. A local institution since its inception in March 2005, all one needs to participate is a voice or an ear. Come by during an open mic and share some of your secrets and soul.

Suggested minimum $3 donation: All ages welcome

Boston Progress Arts Collective manages East Meets West, an independently-owned Asian American bookstore, with the largest selection of independent Asian American products on the East Coast, including books, DVDs, hip hop, rock, and spoken word CDs and vinyl, chapbooks, gear, and one-of-a-kind artwork from established and up-and-coming artists from across the country.

Visit us at 934 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge.

Hours of operation: 2nd Friday of the month 8PM-10:30PM and by appointment.

Hi Maynard, we were there and it was a great event. Thanks for sharing it within this community. A pity we did not get to meet you in the crowd. See you next time.

I have looked at the event and am really interested in it. However, very unfortunately I am flying to San Francisco that morning to attend a friend's wedding. It is a great pity that I am missing this. I wish the event goes well.
