It is because I want to share my Chinese language skills and Chinese culture with others, and that's why I organize this group.
Sure, I want to meet other people who speak other dialects and other languages from local and/or other places to networking, exchange our language skills and culture in a nice and easy way. But, the most important goal is to make sure the Chinese language survives and pass on to the next generation.
Yes. I speak Mandarin, Hakka, and a little bit of other Chinese dialects I also picked up some Guilin dialect in Guilin when I was visiting Guilin in my junior year. For me, it is one of the most difficult dialects, Guilin dialect is nothing like Cantonese, Mandarin, or Hakka. Guilin dialect is just like Fuzhou dialect, Shanghai dialect (Shanghaiese), Chaozhou dialect, ... and you have no clue what they are talking about if you don't know the dialect. Unfortunately, I forgot all my Guilin dialect without practicing.
Yes, yes, yes.
