the meeting was great, but it could've run a bit longer. We didn't have time to go over some of the formulas presented. That being said, what was covered couldn't have been better. Henry presents his material in a way that is digestible to both TCM students and practitioners. His handouts are concise without lacking depth, and the opportunity to sample a syrup and watch the final preparation was invaluable. I would recommend any of Henry's classes, plan to take courses with him at PCOM and frankly, you can't beat the price.

It is a organized lectture. Organizers, Kamwo people and Mr.McCann prepared this Meet up really well. Because topic was Medicated Syrups, it was a kind of cooking class with Oriental Medicine theory. I did not realize time. I have been interested how people cook Medicinal syrup. Different wise elder practitioners have different ways. Also I noticed that Northern Chinese and Southern Chinese have different ways to cook herbs and soups. If there are any chances to have such kind of lecture I am interested to join. Thank you for nice Meet-up.

Chinese medicine has an incredibly wide array of herb preparation methods, far more than the most commonly seen decoctions and tablets found in modern clinics. One traditional method, the medicated syrup or Gao Zi, has a very long history of use in China and represents an almost forgotten way of taking herbs that still has relevance for today’s patients. Join us for a fun discussion of medicated syrups, including their methods of preparation and administration, a review of exemplar formulas, and a look at their use in the Nourishing Life tradition of Chinese medicine. Henry McCann, DAOM, LAc, finished his doctoral degree with a specialization in geriatric medicine and is an expert on Nourishing Life traditions in Chinese medicine. He teaches Chinese herbal medicine and Huang Di Nei Jing at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. He also is on faculty at the doctoral program at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, and teaches regularly in Europe. Dr. McCann will be lecturing on Medicated Syrups at the TCM Kongress in Germany later this spring.
