I'd like to wish you a happy October, and I also hope to see you all this coming Sunday, October 5th, at the Wyndham DFW Airport North for the North Texas Church of Freethought's September service. We'll be celebrating Freethought Day (and its Puritan origins) and discussing several other topics of interest to you. As usual, we encourage you to arrive at 10:00 AM to enjoy refreshments and fellowship, followed by our regular service starting at 10:30. Immediately following the service, we'll be meeting at Jason's Deli at the intersection of I-635 and MacArthur Boulevard, for lunch and continued discussion.Blood Drive
Hurricane Ike not only devastated Galveston and soaked Houston, it also critically emptied Texas-area blood banks. Fortunately, we freethinkers can help to make a difference! Outreach Director Cash Foley has coordinated with Carter BloodCare to organize a blood drive- your atheist blood will be happily accepted. And it couldn't be easier! Just come to Jason's Deli (I know you would anyway) after the October service, eat a healthy lunch, and pop out to the Carter BloodCare van for 20 minutes or so to SAVE LIVES. To make it even easier, you can just click here
to reserve your time in the van. And if saving the lives of your fellow humans wasn't enough, you'll also be entered in a drawing to win Dallas Mavericks or Stars tickets!Obnoxious Ball
Brad Watson's new game experiment will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 12th (Freethought Day!). More details can be found here

Martina Kolmeder and Clinton Smith will be graciously hosting their annual Halloween Party, this year on Friday, October 31st. Costumes are encouraged and children are welco me, however costumes have been somewhat mature in the past, so you may want to take that into consideration. Since the party will be held on Halloween, bring candy to pass out to the neighborhood children and a healthy potluck dish to share.
If you?d like to come, plan to arrive at 6:00 PM, and get the rest of the details by emailing
