The Baltimore Separation of Church and State monthly Meetup

  • Apr 2, 2013 · 7:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

We will still be going to Ding How, but we will be meeting at 7:30 instead of 8:00. I will be making the reserevation the day before, so I am ending RSVPs that afternoon. If you have any suggestions what you want the group to do this year, please post a suggestion on the message board, email April, Marjeta or Steve, or just come to the meeting and speak up. Look forward to seeing everyone!

Hey all, I'll be late. I should be there by 8:30.

A recent proposal in MT is most troubling, as it a thinly-veiled ruse from the Fundamentalist Right; the bill would criminalize end-of-life medical advice by prohibiting physicians from assisting dying patients in making choices that would hasten their demise. Apart from being an offensive intrusion into one of the sacrosanct areas of the doctor-patient relationship, the bill chills physician's First Amendment privileges, as it makes advice a crime. The sponsor? A veteranarian quick to complain about gvt intrusions into private affairs; the man had not a second thought about destroying his "patients" (animals) for purposes that couldn't remotely be characterized as euthanasia. wer this to become law, I would be glad to lead the challenge (overbroad and underinclusive).
