"On February 20, 2014, a film crew working on the Gregg Allman biopic "Midnight Rider" in Georgia were setting up to film on a train trestle when a freight train came through killing 2nd AC Sarah Elizabeth Jones and seriously injuring many others. The impact of this devastating event rocked the film community and sparked a worldwide movement "Slates For Sarah." This accident was not only preventable, it is allegedly the result of gross negligence on the part of the production which, it seems, did not have the legal permits to shoot on the live tracks. How did this happen? What can be done to prevent this type of tragedy from ever happening again?"
Hello again! A panel of working Houston indie film and production experts will be talking about safety on set. Please don't miss this crucial learning opportunity. Our "Team Up" meetup has been pushed back to next month because this safety event is a must!
