Hacking Linux Routers

Paul Bouchier and Jonathan Pitts of the
DPRG will give a talk and demonstration on how to hack a Linux router, along with tips on how to select and use one. The talk is aimed at Linux beginners through intermediate. They will cover the what, why and how of hacking and modifying a router or other Linux appliance. Application architecture, downloading packages, and development toolchains will also be discussed. This is a public event hosted by the Dallas Personal Robotics Group; a show and tell session featuring individual robotic projects will precede the presentation.

It was not so much about vulnerability as it was about reloading the linux kernal and associated code to have extra feature. Fortunately, I believe that you have to be on premise to do this, so thats the good news from a hacker and vulnerability stand point.
Make sure you have you passwords set different from the default to keep people out of your router configuration page.
DPRG is a great group of tech types. Been wanting to connect with them for a while so it was good to see that they are having meetings other than their Thursday ones.
It was a surprisingly good meeting I thought. Great bunch of guys.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
