comes one of Canada’s best folk/roots songwriters\, John Wort Hannam. Joh
n is known for his unique take on the simple day-to-day dramas of common fo
lk through songs that map the landscapes of both the human heart and this v
ast continent of ours. \n\nWith comparisons to Gordon Lightfoot\, James Kee
laghan\, and John Prine\, John is a born story- teller with a keen eye for
the quirky and lyrics that create stories behind the songs. John has achie
ved some fine accolades in a few short years.\n\nFor five years John Wort H
annam was a fulltime school-teacher on the largest First Nations reserve in
Canada – The Kainai Nation\, part of the Blackfoot Tribe. He taught creat
ive writing to grade 9 students. In 1997 a friend played him a Loudon Wain
wright III record and John was hooked by the music and stories. In 1998 he
bought a guitar and learnt some chords. In 2003 he quit teaching to pursu
e the dream of being a working musician.\n\nHe released his debut CD “pocke
t full of holes” in 2002 followed up with “Dynamite and ‘Dozers” in 2004 an
d then his third full-length CD “Two-Bit Suit” in spring of 2007. John’s f
ourth CD “Queen’s Hotel” was released in Sept. 2009. \n\nHis many appearanc
es have included a 2009 mainstage performance at the Kerrville Folk Fest\,
a 2008 performance at London's Trafalgar Square\, and the 2006 Smithsonian
Folklife Festival in Washington DC.\n\nThriving on live performance\, John
Wort Hannam is truly happy when he is on the road playing and connecting pe
rsonally with an audience. John Wort Hannam has performed as a solo\, duo\

ey's Class C core lies Skylark Airport (7B6)\, a strip of runway carved out
of the trees around it. Vintage aircraft of varying degrees of airworthin
ess line the taxiways\, and in a medium-sized hangar on the main ramp you'l
l find the EAA Chapter 1310\, serving a fantastic breakfast!\n \n\nThe plan
is to meet around 9:30am for the all-you-can-eat eggs/sausage/pancake brea
kfast. The breakfast ($5 donation) is served in the tan hangar a few hundr
ed feet West of the main terminal- it may look like there's nothing going o
n\, but it's in there! Once you get breakfast and grab a seat\, if you fee
l adventurous\, chat up some of the locals at the breakfast- I've always be
en surprised by the diversity of people that attend\, and I've never been b
ored here!\n \n\nA few notes about the airport before you go: \n-The weste
rn 100' of the runway (10/28) has broken asphalt and ruts. The rest of the
runway is in Fair condition.\n-The treeline is pretty close to the approac
h end of runway 28\, which makes it a challenge using all the "available" r

Let's give it another shot!\n\nThis is an easy area to hike/walk around. I
did it about a year ago and we just did a simple loop for a short hike. Th
e map shows some other side trails that we can also explore if we're in the
mood. See the map at http://www.mianusrive.... This area looks like a good
one for people to leave after an hour or two\, or more\, depending on what
individuals have time for and feel up to. Before it was a bit tricky to fi
nd so it might be good to check it on your computer or GPS\, but I'll write
some directions below. Mostly what was hard was seeing the turnoff to Merr
iebrook Rd. \n\nPLEASE NOTE: Due to previous problems of no shows and small
turnout\, I will require written or spoken reconfirmation of attendance of
all YES and MAYBE rsvp's 48 HOURS before the event. I will send out a remi
nder email\, but no reconfirmation will equal a change to NO. Also\, if few
er than 4 people sign up\, I will be in touch with individuals to see if we
