We are the leading organization in New York City to offer funding to grassroots groups—groups such as block associations, tenant associations, gardening groups, and groups that do not have a 501(c)(3) status— working on quality-of-life issues.

We support residents to work on specific projects that help to bring neighbors together, and on the issues that they identify as important to their communities.

Our Community Grants are up to $3,000 for community improvement projects ranging from community gardening and arts initiatives to tenant organizing and school recycling drives.  We prioritize grants to community-led efforts in low-income neighborhoods and Title I schools.  Our 2015 application will be published in the fall of 2014.  Questions? Contact Wilfredo at 212-822-9580.

Visit us at www.citizensnyc.org/grants to apply!

We offer a free Neighborhood Leadership Institute to help you mobilize your neighbors, raise funds (beyond our own grants), navigate city government, and more. We share stories, tools, and tips custom-tailored to meet the needs of grassroots groups—and listen to your experiences. Our upcoming winter series is starting soon! Questions? Contact Wilfredo at 212-822-9580.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
