Art (not just visual art) is a means of sharing thoughts, a method of communication. Sometimes the process of making something changes the way that the artist thinks about the subject matter.
I have been working as an artist for about ten years, but I recently rented a space at 201 S. Camac Street where I teach art classes and exhibit the work of local artists. I am interested in helping plan or host events for this group.
I hope to reach a wider audience of artists and art-lovers through this group, and to get the word out about my new business, Brooke Lanier Fine Art. I am offering classes there, and you can register online at http://brookelanier.com/course-descriptions/.
I am predominantly a painter, though I work in whichever medium I feel is best suited to the concept I am trying explore.
I received my Masters of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Tyler School of Art, where I spent my first year of graduate school studying in Rome, Italy. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
