My mother is a teacher with an MA in Reading. Growing up, my room was always littered with books! I was never allowed a video game console and never complained. the first full length classic my parents ever gave me was "Moby Dick" and because it was my first "grown up" book at the tender age of ten has stuck with me. I still have the same old Penguin copy they gave me.
This is a really hard question. I have so many! If I have to pick one...."Middlemarch" by George Eliot. I absolutely love all of Eliot's works, but I think "Middlemarch" was her best.
George Eliot, Mark Twain, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Alexandre Dumas, JK Rowling (I know, but I think she's a good storyteller), and Arthur Conan Doyle.
"Vanity Fair". I have it. I keep meaning to read it, but I haven't yet.
"I'm sorry for not reading "Daisy Miller", sir. I thought this week we were covering "Ethan Frome"- Conversation I had with my AP English teacher.
