Web developer & consultant as Substrate Websoft. I strategize, design, develop, and deploy web sites and applications -- particularly for organizations focused on environment, education, and empowerment.
Infotech inevitably transforms our society. Open Source and open standards are mechanisms for ensuring such transformation is collectively owned and driven, are tools for individual empowerment, and help bring successful and sustained positive outcomes. I see great things happening in other places around the country in the sphere of government transparency and Open Data, and want to see similar successes happen in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio as well.
I want to clean up, structure, and catalog public data available in NEO -- to create a strong foundation from which we can build apps and visualizations that bring public data closer to the public. I'm currently pretty interested in geospatial/mapping stuff, too.

Hi Jeff! I look forward to learning Drupal.
Hi Jeff. Glad you reached out. At risk of being self-promotiona
l: you should consider linking your group to the Code for America Brigade (http://brigade.codeforamerica.org![]()
). It provides structure & achievable goals through our 5 activities & connects civic hackers in Cleveland with those throughout the country. We're about to launch a campaign/compet
ition through end of year to deploy civic apps to as many cities as possible & promote adoption. [masked] if you want to follow up.
Thanks for the welcome! I'm a newbie, and a fast and anxious learner!
Thanks Jeff - see you tonight!
Thanks Jeff, I'm looking forward to more!
