Cleveland Civic Hacking
The Cleveland Civic Hacking group organizes citizens, software developers, designers and entrepreneurs to collaboratively build solutions to solve challenges in and work toward the betterment of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.
Collaborate to build apps and visualizations, clean up unstructured data, catalog public datasets, create new projects to transform our region!
Check out an event on the calendar for more on how Civic Hack Nights work.
Open Geo Cleveland
Open Geo Cleveland aims to be a resource for people to discuss and share knowledge on utilizing free geographic data sets especially OpenStreetMap, and Open geo-spatial software that manages, edits, and displays geographic data, and advocate for its use in Northeast Ohio. We're also a maptime chapter =)

Open Geo Cleveland generally meets at least once a month and we often collaborate with Cleveland Civic Hacking on projects.
On Civic Hacking...
"A civic hacker is an open source software developer who uses his or her skills to make their community and country a better place. ... A civic hacker will just do something, not asking for permission, ignoring government bureaucracy, in order to build tools and technologies with a civic-minded bent."
