Joe -- i like the idea of doing something w/ bioinformatics

I'm interested in modeling and trying to predict complex natural
phenomena -- gene expression, cell interaction, weather, social
network interaction, economics, etc...

The problem i see w/ gene/protein/cell research is we may need a
big/expensive lab to do anything of value -- that said i know there
are a lot of public databases of animal and plant bio info, so maybe
my assumption about needing an expensive lab is incorrect

Whatever we choose to do -- data reliability/accessibly is a big factor

Kevin -- to address the education project question -- i don't have
anything in mind -- just that we're in the middle of a big shift in
education, maybe we can do something to help spread/encourage
educational change -- something that benefits our local community
