CABP Changes and Updates

As previously stated, we are working on a new structure for our group. As part of this new structure, I would like to introduce Donita Adams as our new Assistant Organizer. Many of you have met Donita at many of our past functions. I am sure that her decision to serve in this role will strengthen our group and help us move in the right direction.

Also as part of this new structure we have decided to form a new referral based networking group. This group will be geared towards helping business owners and independent professionals exchange information and referrals. The Cleveland Area Black Professionals will still serve as our professional and social networking group. Look for new events coming soon.  See information below for details about the new group.

The Greater Cleveland Association of

African-American Entrepreneurs

Business Referral and Networking at its Best!

~

Building Relationships that drive business growth

You are cordially invited to explore the opportunity of becoming a member of The Greater Cleveland Association of African-American Entrepreneurs (GCAAE) on Friday, September 18th from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. This Association exists primarily to provide a structured forum for African-American entrepreneurs to establish long-term business relationships in a positive, high-energy environment, which fosters business growth.  This is accomplished by embracing a Give and it shall be given unto you philosophy.

We offer more than just meeting, greeting and fleeing.  Our members are committed to understanding your business and giving reliable business referrals, as well as exchanging business strategies and networking ideas.  The goal of the group is not to push our own businesses on others, but to help members build and grow business profit and opportunities by word of mouth advertising.  Word of mouth is the best and cheapest form of advertising. Joining a referral based networking group will help you spread the word of about your business. It's like hiring a sales team to help promote your business.

The GCAAE is also in the planning stages of forming a mentoring program for African-American youth aspiring to be entrepreneurs.  Members of the GCAAE will be encouraged to actively participate in our youth mentoring program. Additional details will be discussed during the upcoming referral and networking meeting.

This association prides itself on Membership and is open to only one entrepreneur per industry, so there is never competition for referrals.  In order to be an effective member of the group, members are required to attend the bi-monthly meetings, present a 60 second infomercial during each meeting and  a 15 minute presentation of their business throughout the course of the year, pay the semi-annual membership fee, and exchange business referrals whenever the opportunity presents itself.  Applications for membership are subject to approval by the Membership Committee and the Board of Directors.

Fee Structure:  There will be a semi-annual membership fee beginning January 2010. Additional details will be discussed during the upcoming meeting.

You must register to attend this meeting at http://www.gcaae.com.  Registration is only open to one entrepreneur per industry; therefore registration for this meeting is on a first come first serve basis. Register today and lock out your competition!

The GCAAE is one of the best and most enjoyable ways to promote your business amongst other African-American entrepreneurs, so bring plenty of business cards! Thank you and we look forward to seeing you and your business grow!
