The Duck Hunter: Capitol Theater (Italian Film Festival) / Rincon Criollo

NOTE:  IF you sign up, contact the film festival directly for tickets.

Another mainstay movie event is the Cleveland Italian Film Festival.  Every year I announce the festival but this year we can make it a group event.

We have 10 tickets reserved through September 20.  If you would like me to buy your ticket, please use Paypal or pay me in person before that date.  Otherwise, you are welcome to contact the festival and buy it on your own.

Their movies typically sell out so buyer beware if you wait until that event to get your ticket.

As far as I know, we have never had Puerto Rican food so this should be interesting.  Yes, I know it doesn't quite match with Italian, but oh well.

Tips for improving your restaurant experience:

  • Print a map or enter the address in your GPS ahead of time.
  • Bring CASH to pay for your meal.
  • When you arrive, ask to sit at the "Movie Group" table.

7:30 MOVIE AT THE CAPITOL - West 65th & Detroit
Meet us in the lobby about 10 minutes ahead of time or look for the group inside the theater or meet us afterward not too far from where tickets are purchased.

This film has never been shown in the United States...

A touching story of a small provincial villiage, Massa Finalese near Modena, Italy in 1942 and how destiny alters the lives of a brave, simple people.  Massa Finalese is the land of the duck in the Po Valley where a festival is held celebrating the duck hunting season.  Protagonists Mario, Loris, Oreste and Gino each have dreams they carry with them as they traverse the difficult, hard economic times of that period.

" There is no review because this is a U.S. premiere" - Jim S

The $5.00 yearly fee (or $1.50 for one movie) goes toward charges incurred for using the MeetUp website. You can access PayPal (see link in left hand column) or pay your fee to the Organizer at the event.

If this is your first movie with the group, there is no fee to attend.

This group has been successful partly because members have a genuine interest in meeting fellow independent movie goers. We don't always know where to look for you, especially first timers.  Consider printing out the pictures of the attendees to help you find them easier.

We have multiple meeting places:

  • Entrance door to the movie in the theater hallway 5-10 minutes before the movie starts
  • By the entrance door or ticket office after the movie
  • Reserved table at the restaurant under the name "Movie Group"

We don't always sit together in the movie theater but if you see a bunch of people talking about good movies they have seen, it is probably us. Please join in. We are always happy to get new people involved.

In the world of Independent films, it is recommended that you check back a few days before the event to make sure the movie, restaurant, location or time has not changed.
