Drive: Cedar Lee Theater / Anatolia Cafe

What is the point when Point Blank comes up empty?  Instead, we will see Drive, another thriller from the USA.

6:00 EATS

Anatolia Cafe is on of only two Turkish restaurants in the area.  They can be a bit slow so be there as close to 6 as possible.  The food is worth the wait.  It is a 5 minute walk to the theater.

Tips for improving your restaurant experience:

  • Print a map or enter the address in your GPS ahead of time.
  • Bring CASH to pay for your meal.
  • When you arrive, ask to sit at the "Movie Group" table.

7:25 MOVIE
Meet us in the lobby about 5 minutes ahead of time or look for the group inside the theater or meet us afterward not too far from where tickets are purchased.

AFTER MOVIE DISCUSSION

We will head across the street (half a block down) to Lopez.  They have great appetizers, beverages and desserts.

DESCRIPTION

Driver is a Hollywood stunt driver, flipping cars and spinning wheels for formulaic Hollywood action pictures. But as he likes to say, "It's only part time." By night he's the getaway driver for heist operations, navigating the labyrinth of L.A. streets with a mechanical precision that makes him one of the best in the business.

REVIEW

"A film that moves relentlessly forward, carrying you along so completely that it's only afterwards, if at all, that you begin to wonder about origins and plausibilities."

NOTE TO FIRST TIME GOERS
If this is your first movie with the group, there is no fee to attend.

This group has been successful partly because members have a genuine interest in meeting fellow independent movie goers. We don't always know where to look for you, especially first timers.  Consider printing out the pictures of the attendees to help you find them easier.

We have multiple meeting places:

  • Entrance door to the movie in the theater hallway 5-10 minutes before the movie starts
  • By the entrance door or ticket office after the movie
  • Reserved table at the restaurant under the name "Movie Group"

We don't always sit together in the movie theater but if you see a bunch of people talking about good movies they have seen, it is probably us. Please join in. We are always happy to get new people involved.

NOTE TO ALL
In the world of Independent films, it is recommended that you check back a few days before the event to make sure the movie, restaurant, location or time has not changed.
