The Perks of Being a Wallflower: Cedar Lee / Bottlehouse Brewery

Perks is a story that has been told many times.  But the reviews have been great.  I hope you will be able to join us.

6:00 EATS

This is our first time at the BH Brewery.  It is about a 5 minute walk from the Cedar Lee from the north side of Cedar.  You could park here and eat, walk down to the theater and we will  return afterward to discuss the film.  They have perogis and Indian chutney rolls (which was very good when I had it at a festival recently).

Tips for improving your restaurant experience:

  • Print a map or enter the address in your GPS ahead of time.
  • Bring CASH to pay for your meal.
  • When you arrive, ask to sit at the "Movie Group" table.

7:30 MOVIE

Meet near the entrance door to the theater 10 minutes ahead of time or look for the group inside the theater or meet us afterward near the theater door.

AFTER MOVIE DISCUSSION

We will return to the Bottlehouse Brewery for conversation.

NOTE TO FIRST TIME GOERS
If this is your first movie with the group, there is no fee to attend.

This group has been successful partly because members have a genuine interest in meeting fellow independent movie goers. We don't always know where to look for you, especially first timers.  Consider posting your picture and printing out the pictures of the attendees to help find everyone easier.

We have multiple meeting places:

  • Entrance door to the movie in the theater hallway 5-10 minutes before the movie starts
  • By the entrance door or ticket office after the movie
  • Reserved table at the restaurant under the name "Movie Group"

We don't always sit together in the movie theater but if you see a bunch of people talking about good movies they have seen, it is probably us. Please join in. We are always happy to get new people involved.

NOTE TO ALL
In the world of Independent films, it is recommended that you check back a few days before the event to make sure the movie, restaurant, location or time has not changed.

I regret I saw Perks when it first came out and didn't get to join you because I would have loved to have participated in the discussion. I am so proud of my nephew Ezra Miller who played Patrick. I know I am biased but I thought he was terrific! What did all of you think? I usually attend the few indie movies that make it to Crocker Park any interest in joining me let me know. Thanks, Jane

Your nephew was amazing. I thought the entire cast was very strong. It is a very special film. Is Ezra working on anything else right now?

Thanks so much for your response to my email and I am so thrilled that you thought highly of Ezra's performance. Here are the films he has been in:
We Need to Talk About Kevin
      City Island
      Afterschool
The Perks of Being a Wallflower .
      2013 Madame Bovary (pre-production)
      Leon
I loved him in City Island and the upcoming movie he is in is "Madame Bovary." I live in Lorain county so if you are ever interested in meeting up at a movie at Crocker Pk let me know. Thanks, jane

I really liked this movie. It was smart, creative, very reflective. I haven't seen an American independent this well done for quite a while. Go see it.

I thought it was a well written, well acted film. The lead will be a star. I found myself misting up a few times. It was very difficult to hear the post film synopsis.
