Hi everyone,

If you have the chance, be sure to check out the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival this weekend.  It was started by a lady who lost her son to Malaria while he was filming a documentary about South Africa.

Check out this event and all film events at link

Two other events within the week.

Kurosawas' Throne at link.    This popular Japanese director's film is being shown at the Cinematheque at 7.  A large group is planning to attend.

Detective Dee.  This film is a Chinese murder mystery that is getting decent press.  Please check it out.

Monday around 7ish.

On Nov. 4, our group has the honor of meeting with Tyler Davidson, the producer of "Take Shelter".  This movie keeps getting more press and while it is at the Cedar Lee, it may go a bit mainstream.  Time Magazine had a great article about it this past week.

After seeing the film, we will be heading over to TASTE to meet with Tyler.  There is a limit of 25 people.  Also, you MUST be paid up for the year in order to attend.  (We will probably buy him dinner for meeting with us.)  If you haven't already paid online or in person to me, then let me know in your RSVP that you will be able to contribute then.

Our group met with Tyler 3 years ago and he really enjoyed the session.  Let's show him a good welcome and take this opportunity to hear his insight on the film. Who knows, maybe we will be seeing him at Oscar time?

The link is here

Catch you at the movies.

Jim
