I totally agree. You shouldn’t have had to take on this burden for you all these years. Even though I’m an assistant organizer, I’d be happy to pay a fee.

Subject: [movies-320] Trouble the Water:
Hoping that everyone is looking forward to the holidays. I would like to welcome the following new members:
Corina (Yes, mainstream movies can really be boring)
Trouble the Water has been getting rave reviews because it is about Katrina, but it is about much more, the human spirit. It is not a political film but about how the people come through. A real inspiration this Christmas season.
When: December 15,[masked]:00 PM
I would also like to welcome Susan Marshall as another assistant organizer. She has been in the group for quite a while and will be very helpful in the times to come.
Finally, while I enjoy running this meetup, I am giving consideration to starting a minimal charge to address Meetup fees for 2009. If I collected more than I paid, we would use the extra funds for a party or something like that. While I am still mulling this around, here is what I am suggesting:
Fees would be:
* $1 / event or $5/year
* First time ever attending a movie event would be free
* Assistant Organizers (past and present) would not be charged
* Anyone paying for another Meetup group would not be charged.
What are your thoughts?
Have a good day
